Local and foreign business leaders as well as policy makers gathered at the 35th Philippine Business Conference and Expo held at the Manila Hotel last October 20-22, 2009.
With this year’s theme: “One. Global. Filipino. Regional Economic Development: Frontline to Sustainability,” the conference, organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), underscored the important role of local and regional development in the overall agenda of national economic development and competitiveness in light of the global financial crisis, says PCCI President Edgardo Lacson.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo serve as keynote speaker during the event. Mr. Bert Hoffman, Country Director of World Bank – Philippines; and Mr. Kingson U. Sian, President, Alliance Global Inc. also addressed the participants comprised of members of various Chamber of Commerce and Industries here in the Philippines.
