PSME stages 57th National Convention

The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) staged its 57th National Convention which they hold annually at the SMX Hall 1, Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City last November 4-7, 2009.

The event which coincided with the annual convention of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE) carried the theme "Promoting Global Opportunities for Mechanical Engineers Towards Worldwide Changes" as deemed timely and relevant by their officers. The event was opened to members and non-members for a registration fee that cost only P3,500 per participant inclusive of meals, souvenir program, convention kits, plant tour, fellowships, certificates, and access to the International Exposition on Electrical Engineering.

PSME has arranged several activities during the event for all members and non-members of the organization which include seminars, technical paper presentations, exhibits, workshops and dialogues, product presentations, plant tours, business forum, student quiz contest, socials, awards night and fellowship.

Established back in 1952, and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1955, the PSME aspires to become a group that would unify all mechanical engineers in the country in pursuance of professional growth, maintenance of integrity and fortification of the engineering profession. PSME was accredited by the Professional Regulations Commission on July 8, 1975 as the national professional organization for Mechanical Engineers. Currently, it now has 86 chapters nationwide and from the Middle East.
