The Department of Agriculture in cooperation with Pacifica Agrivet Supplies, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) staged the Cebu Agriculture and Food Industry Expo 2009 was staged at the SM Trade Hall 2, SM City Cebu last November 13 to 15, 2009.
Organized by CMB Events Management, the event centered on the effects of climate change on Cebu’s agriculture and food industries. Moreover, the expo features 36 exhibitors from different organization in the food and agriculture industry. These programs are designed to increase food production, to enhance logistics and food delivery, and to create jobs.
Department of Agriculture Region 7 Director Ricardo Oblena, in his speech, noted that the Central Visayas has the highest percentage increase in vegetable production to about 16 percent this year compared to other regions.
Sponsors of the said event include: B-MEG, Animal Health Care, Robina Agri Partners, Uno Feeds, UNAHCO, and Pilmico Animal Nutrition. Media sponsors, on the other hand, were Agribusiness, Sunstar, and the Manila Bulletin.
