The First Philippine Global Art National Competition was launched at the Grand Atrium of the Shangri-La Plaza Mall last November 8, 2009.
The competition was open to all students of Global Art and Creative Philippines, the local partner of Global Art and Creative Malaysia, which was founded in 1999 by Mahair Goh.
The contest was divided into three categories: Foundation level (ages 4-6), Basic level (ages 7-9), and the Intermediate (ages 10 and above). Winners of each category were: Dolorice Joy Sze in Foundation level; Patricia Beatrize Chua in Basic level; and Harold Tan in Intermediate.
Six-year-old Sze and nine-year-old Chua are students of Global Art Ortigas, while Tan attends Global Art Quezon City. Each winner received a trophy and round trip tickets to Singapore where they participated in the international competition.
