Agrilink, Foodlink, and Aqualink 2010 at the World Trade Center

Job Fest Career Fair, Super Kids 2010, and Best of Anime 2010

Primetrade Asia Inc., showcased three events in four consecutive days at the SMX Convention Center last September 16-19.

The first event is the Job Fest Career Fair 2010 presented in cooperation with Jobsdb.com, Studio 23, and the Manila Bulletin. The Career Fair opened September 16 and concluded with hundreds of jobs provided on the second day.

Meanwhile, the second event is in partnership with Maximus Inventus and Promil Nurture Network which set foot from September 17 to 18. Super Kids 2010 aims to support creative learning and champion minds to excel in their chosen endeavor. The event was supported by Johnson’s Pure Essentials, Johnson’s Baby, Junior, and the Manila Bulletin.

3rd Philippine International Motor Show

The 3rd Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) brought together under one roof powerful global auto brand marques, as well as leading brands in affiliate and support industries last August 19 to 22, 2010 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay.

Health, Beauty, Fitness, Lifestyle Asia 2010

Beauty and wellness has been all the rage these past few years in the Philippines. All around, different health products, diet programs, and beauty regimens have filled the market.

ManilArt 10 Contemporary Art Fair

More than sixty of the country's most prestigious art galleries gathered together at the SMX Convention Center Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, Metro Manila via ManilArt '10 last July 30 to August 1 and staged what promises to be the Philippines' biggest art fair.

Now on its second year, ManilArt aimed to paint a broad mosaic of the Philippines' visual arts landscape by showcasing a wider spectrum of creative works, ranging from paintings and sculptures by up and coming artists to rare masterpieces by esteemed national artists.

The annual art event was also aimed to make Philippine art more accessible to the general public. Serious art collectors and ordinary art lovers are in for a visual treat as the country's major art houses put their collections of the best in contemporary art on view.

18th Defense and Sporting Show 2010

The Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines Inc. in cooperation with the Philippine National Police, Civil Security Group, Firearms and Explosives Division, Eastern Police District, Mandaluyong City Police Station, Philippine Practical Shooting Association, National Range Officers Institute, Philippine National Shooting Association, and Steel Challenge Shooting Association Philippines presents the 18th Defense and Sporting Show last July 15-19 at the Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall.

1st Philippine Chocolate and Ice Cream Show

Buyers, Enthusiasts Heads to Manila International Auto Show this April


Buyers, collectors, and enthusiasts of vintage cars, custom cars, race cars, and everything else that has motor and runs on wheels will roll out to the World Trade Center in Manila this April 15 – 18, 2010 for the 2010 edition of Manila International Auto Show.

The Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), organized by Worldbex Services International, is an annual venue for car buyers and enthusiasts alike to take a closer look at the latest models and significant concept from the Philippines’ premier auto makers. Manila International Auto Show is the Philippines’ biggest motor show in terms of visitor count, cars on display, and exhibitors.

Ballooning Goes To New Heights at 15th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

Hot air balloons paint the sky once again for the 15th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF). This dazzling event will be staged at the Clarkfield Economic Zone in Pampanga on February 11-14, 2010.

The PIHABF is an annual event featuring balloons from all over the world. Over the years, it has become a convention of sorts including aerosports and other aviation-related pursuits.

Tagged as the “Weekend of Everything That Flies”, viewers will be treated to a spectacular air show featuring regular and special-shaped hot air balloons coming from all over the world. Livestock and Poultry Industry Take Part in INAHGEN 2010

The country’s largest and most prestigious agribusiness exhibition, the 3rd International Animal Health, Genetics and Nutrition Congress (INAHGEN 2010): The Farmers’ Congress is scheduled on February 3 – 5, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

Christmas Gifts Made Affordable at 2nd Manila Toys and Gifts Show

Hundreds of toys and gift items will be sold in affordable prices at the 2nd Manila Toys and Gifts Show (MTGS) on December 16 – 22, 2009 at the SM Megatrade Hall 2 and 3 in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

Organized by Megatrade Hall and MCT Events Management, The seven-day event will feature toys and collectibles, apparel and shoes, fashion, home, and kids’ accessories, food, and even novelty gift items, just in time for the Christmas Season.

Bigger Defense and Sporting Arms Show Set

The country's major gun manufacturers and dealers are ready to show their latest firearms and shooting paraphernalia at the 2009 Defense and Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) Part 2 scheduled on November 12 – 16, 2009 at the SM Megatrade Hall 1-2 in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

As a result of the success of the previous DSAS events, Atty. Hector Rodriguez, President of the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers, the organizers of the event, said that they are expanding the exhibit hall area to cater to the increasing demand for more show booths for new firearms and shooting accessories and the heavy influx of gun aficionados.

DSAS Part 1, held last July 16 – 20, 2009, occupied the same venue and attracted hundreds of visitors interested in gun ownership, target shooting, and airsoft. Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Jesus Versosa and other officials of the PNP Civil Security Group (CSG) and the PNP Firearms and Explosives Division (PNP-FED) graced the opening rites.

Aside from gun displays and product presentations, seminars were also conducted during the event. The PNP-FED gave a free seminar entitled: “Legal Aspects of Gun Ownership”, aimed at encouraging gun owners with delinquent licenses to renew them to avoid payment of penalties. They also set-up a one-stop shop firearm license renewal booth during the event.

Director Versosa as well as PNP-FED Director Chief Supt. Alfredo Caballes will again grace the opening of DSAS Part 2. Seminars and product demonstrations will again be staged during the 5-day event.

Manila Auto Salon 2009 Set as Largest Automotive Event in RP

The Philippines’ largest automotive aftermarket show, Manila Auto Salon (MAS), is set on November 26 – 29, 2009 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

13th APHCA Hair Olympics Returned To Manila


The Asia Pacific Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association (APHCA) took full circle as its annual competition, the APHCA Hair Olympics, returned to where it all started: Manila.

The 13th APHCA Hair Olympics was hosted by the Filipino hairdressers’ association, Fil-Hair Coop, in celebration of its 25th anniversary, last October 21, 2009 at the Philippine Trade Training Center, in Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.

Established by Ricky Reyes in 1997, APHCA has now built a prestigious membership that includes Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States.

Featuring the best and the brightest hair and beauty professionals in the region, the APHCA Hair Olympics showcased the latest trends in hair and makeup and other new discoveries on beauty and wellness.

Representatives from member countries competed in various categories, including Men’s Cut and Blow, Ladies’ Cut and Blow, Bridal Makeup, and Commercial Makeup. Winners of the regional competitions held all over the country competed with participants from 12 APHCA member-countries. Categories are Men’s Cut, Ladies’ Cut, Bridal Makeup, Fantasy Makeup and Evening Makeup. The judging was done by foreign delegates from participating countries.

In the end, Jackie Rivera of the Philippines was hailed as the over-all champion. Rivera was also second runner-up in the Commercial Makeup category, first place in the Men’s Cut and Blow Dry Category and third runner-up in the Bridal Makeup Category. He went home with the champ’s crown, trophy, various salon equipment and supplies and the Php 50,000 prize courtesy of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Aside from the competition, beauty practitioners and salon owners were also invited to participate in seminars and demonstrations conducted by top professional hairdressers and cosmetologists from various beauty companies. There was also an exhibition of beauty and wellness products, cosmetics, food supplements, natural herbs and aromatherapy, as well as fashion and cosmetology schools.
