Proudly Filipina’s Takbo para sa Tamang Boto

From the hard-fought battle for suffrage, women have and still are playing a vital role in the shaping and restructuring of the political arena. In the Philippines, women provide a voice of reason and a tone of decision-making that is both stern and tender.

Campaigning for clean and honest elections, Proudly Filipina staged a fun run at the Mall of Asia grounds. The event was held in cooperation with the Soroptimist International Eastwood City District and 3 Thousand Club of the Americas, Philippine Chapter.

Proudly Filipina is an all-Filipina international online community, dedicated to bringing together Filipino women from all over the world. Proudly Filipina and its partners formed and advocacy campaign for awareness and support for clean, fair, and honest elections in the country.

The “Takbo para sa Tamang Boto” was held last May 8, with three different races: the 10 k, 5 k, and 3 k runs.

The event was also held as a fundraising event for the Sisters of Mary Girls Town in Silang, Cavite for their continuing mission of providing support and reaching out for the poor and needy.
