1st FINEX Fun Marathon runs for a Cause

It is not only for weight loss, perspiration, and fun. On September 12, 2010, for the first time, the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) will hold its 1st FINEX Fun Run for a great cause.

Happening at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, this fun race for all races - families, group of friends, youngsters and elderly, celebrities, athletes, sports enthusiasts, will give its proceeds to the Marillac Hills Center for Abused Children, the Laura Vicuna Foundation, ChildHaus, Bahay Mapagmahal, and Habitat for Humanity. Surely, every delegate will not just be a great part of the event's success but will also be an early present to all their beneficiaries.

The marathon will have races types such as three-kilometer, five-kilometer, and ten-kilometer run. Registration fees will be at P300, P400, and P500 respectively. Registration areas for the event will be at the Chris Sports.

CMAP Run to Read Race

The Circulation Management Association of the Philippines (CMAP) “Run to Read” race staged at the National Library Grounds in Manila at 6:30 in the morning last July 18, 2010.

Three out-and-back races—3K, 5K and 10K—were lined up in the event aimed at drumming up interest in the reading awareness program of the CMAP, its president, Edwin Sacramed of the Philippine Daily Inquirer said in Tuesday’s PSA Forum at Shakey’s UN Avenue.

Registration for the event, backed by Coca-, PAGCOR and the Newspaper, Magazine and Comics Dealers Association of the Philippines, happened last July 8 to 16 at the circulation departments of Abante/Abante Tonite, Manila Bulletin, Inquirer and Bulgar and the Manila Sports Council at the City Hall.

“CMAP chose running as a vehicle or instrument in promoting readership aside from its physical fitness benefit because we believe that running is attractive for all ages, gender, profession, individual or any group,” CMAP Vice President Marcelino Minor of Abante also said at the forum sponsored by Outlast Battery, PAGCOR, Accel, And Shakey’s Pizza.

CMAP is a group of dynamic executives whose experiences are centered on sales, marketing strategies and circulation management, resulting into a unified and collective voice to address the publications and the industry’s needs in the effective distribution of printed news and information. Chase the Sun: The Neutrogena Run

A true runner will never let the intense summer heat get in the way of a good workout. This is what inspired the only cable network in the Philippine television exclusively for women, the Lifestyle Network, in partnership with Neutrogena, when they’ve encouraged women across the metro to step out under the sun and participate in one of the country’s faster-growing sport—running.

This is the first road race organized by a beauty brand. Moreover, it is also a tribute to the woman who can sport beautiful, summer skin and strut her stuff as an active runner, the Chase the Sun Run will give runners the chance to experience firsthand how Neutrogena takes care of their skin.

With the theme, “Chase the Sun: The Neutrogena Run”, the run started last May 16 at the Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, which featured race categories on 3K, 5K, 10, 15K.

Skyathon Bora Beach and Surf Run

The Skyathon Bora Beach and Surf Run was held last April 24 at the Beach Front of Guilly’s Island in Station 1 in the island of Boracay. The competition gave freedom to runners if they prefer to go barefoot or run in aqua socks when they run in the said in the said island terrains.

Participants also joined the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary and Kiwanis Club of Boracay in cleaning up the area after the said competition.

This very special event was organized by Sky Cable and officiated by Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP). Sponsors supporters were Bayan DSL, Gold’s Gym, Second Wind, SEAIR, ACCEL, Alta Vista Hotel, Boracay Regency Hotel, Club Paraw, Cyma Restaurant, Guilly’s Island, Paraiso Grill Lobster House, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary-Boracay, and Kiwanis Club of Boracay.
