The 1st National Student Safety and Security Conference (N-SSASEC) 2009 was held last August 29-30, 2009 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Financial Center Area, Sen. Gil J. Puyat Ave. cor Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City, with the theme “The Mission to Provide for a Safe and Educationally-Stimulating Learning Environment for Students Nationwide.”
The two-day event was joined-in by public and private educational institutions nationwide comprising school owners & administrators, faculty & student organizations, socio-civic & community associations, parents & guardians and top leaders of the nation.
The delegates had the chance to partake in hands-on activities and listening-in to the experts and national speakers who shared their insights and knowledge about successful approaches to securing our nation’s campuses and students.
The conference highlighted the important inputs from the authorities who deal with man-made and natural disasters’ risks who shared their experience in threat assessment and crisis planning. They were the specialists from Bureau of Fire Protection, National Disaster Coordinating Council and the Philippine National Red Cross.
N-SSASEC 2009 was organized by PhilEvents Management & Advertising Company in cooperation with Department of Education (DepEd); Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC); Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA); Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA); Department of Health (DOH); Department of Justice (DOJ); National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC); World Health Organization (WHO); National Youth Commission (NYC); and Unicef.
