Understanding Commercial Opportunities in the 5th Philippine Ports and Shipping Expo

Now on its fifth year, the Philippine Ports and Shipping Exhibition and Conference conducted the biennial event at the Peninsula Manila Hotel in Makati City last Feb. 12 and 13.

Endorsed by the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and hosted by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), the two-day confab concentrated on the understanding of the commercial opportunities that the Philippines could offer to all sectors. The event also boasted of exhibitions from 50 international shipping lines, container ports, logistics and IT companies, container terminal equipment, and service providers.

The event, counted to be one of the best among all container ports and terminal operations exhibitions and conferences and known as one of the largest biennial trade events in the entire Asian region, also featured a discussion regarding the global and regional transport and logistics issues facing shipping lines and cargo owners

Sponsored by the PPA, Asian Terminals Incorporated, and Harbor Center Port Terminal Inc., the event also held panel discussions about growth opportunities in infrastructure financing, the direction of the growth in shipping, the effort for the integration of supply chains by port logistics, and technological solutions for the port and container shipping industry.
