Opportunities Amidst Crisis as Theme of 18th NRCE

The retail industry will prove that there is still an opportunity for growth and increased in profit despite the economic downturn with the 18th National Retail Conference (NRCE) to be held from August 13 – 14, 2009 and the Stores Asia Expo 2009 from August 12 – 14, 2009 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

Organized by the Philippine Retailers Association, the event will carry the theme “Opportunities in Crisis”. NRCE has established itself as an institution for discussion of issues and concerns affecting the industry. The conference boasts of noted foreign and local industry experts as speakers and an international mix of participants.

Camarines Sur Governor Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Gov. Villafuerte will relate the transformative power of sheer will and competence in harnessing natural and human resources to put Camarines Sur on the map as a global destination for sports adventure and ecotourism.

Side by side with the conference is the “Stores Asia Expo”, where a select group of suppliers from the retail industry are expected to showcase the latest tools and solutions for global retailing. Conference plenary speakers will cover vital topics on weathering the economic downturn, retail trends, marketing successes for retail, mix-use mall design to enhance retail experiences, the power of store design, environment advocacy in retail, maximizing media for brands, store security updates, IT-based systems and promotions, and banking innovations for the sector.
