Carried by its theme “Moral Transformation for National Development,” the Good Citizenship Movement held its Fourth National Congress last Aug. 21 at the Br. Andrew Gonzalez Hall Auditorium, De La Salle University, Taft Avenue, Manila.
The congress centered on the importance of moral standards and transformation in the country in order to make the Filipinos more productive and effective members of the society toward overall development.
The event also bore witness to the awarding ceremonies of the Ninoy Aquino Award for Nationalism to Chief Justice Reynato Puno, Bishop Socrates Villegas and Commissioner Cris Carreon, as well as the Manuel Quezon Award for Exemplary Governance to Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, business mogul John Gokongwei, and environmentalist Nicanor Perlas.
The awards were conferred by the Good Citizenship Movement, together with the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines and the Federation of Catholic Schools Alumni Association.
