World Food Expo (WOFEX) Visayas, and Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering Expo (HoReCaX) timely collaborated for the 4th Food Processing, Packaging, and Foodservice Expo 2010 as they went hand-in-hand last April 15 to 18 in serving and educating visitors and tourists who went to witness the four-day event at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC), Mandaue City.
WOFEX Visayas and HoReCax 2010 exhibited free seminars and demos that generated topics not only about culinary but also about the “how-to’s” of setting up a business and other nonfood-related ones.
Inside the seminar rooms, some of the topics which were talked about were European Bread Baking, Chinese and Dimsum Cooking, Food Business Planning, Beverage Recipes and Costing for Coffee Shops by Equilibrium Intertrade, and Meat Processing Mr. Niño Tello Lazo. On the other hand, European Cuisines and How to Achieve Sumptuous Dish Thru Plating and Presentation by Chef Evan Charles M. Basco, Quick Cooking for Catering by Technolux, and Bartending Activity were the few topics presented on on-stage demos.
Since Cebu has a robust tourism, with its increasing number of direct international flights, increasing tourist arrivals, Cebu has grown over the rest of Visayas. Through HoReCaX integration to WOFEX Visayas that prompted for more food services and manufacturing requirements, this growth had been accommodated.
