With a theme “Ensuring Survival through Efficiency and Improved Pork Production,” the 19th Hog Convention and Trade Exhibit was staged last April 8 to 10 at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in Davao City.

Hosted by the Davao Hog Farmers Association Inc. and organized annually by the Pork Producers Federation of the Philippines or ProPork (formerly the National Federation of Hog Farmers, Inc.), the said convention educated participants which were consisted of Thousands of commercial and backyard hog raisers from all over the country, with practical and technical information and tips from experts – helping them secure the safety and profitability of their farms.

The gathering which was opened free to the public and was considered a “must-go-to” event, especially for those thinking of setting up their own hog businesses, also hosted the 3rd Backyard Hog Farmers Congress which focused on the needs of the backyard hog raisers so they can improve their operations. And as the biggest and longest-running trade exhibition focusing on the swine industry, seminars on the prevention and eradication of common swine diseases, swine management, and swine genetics were provided.
