Strengthening the Brotherhood in the 94th ANCOM

One of the most popular, if not the premier organizations, in the Philippines, and perhaps the whole world, is the Grand Masonic Lodge. With members all across the globe, it is undeniable that the Masons are among the most influential movers in the world today.

To celebrate their special brotherhood and inspire change, the 94th Annual Communication (ANCOM) of Masons in the Philippines was held last April 22–24 with the theme “Together, Brethren, We Will Make the Difference.”

The Grand Masonic Lodge of the Philippines gathered over 5,000 delegates from all over the world, including Canada, China, Ecuador, Japan, and the United States, in one venue – The SMX Convention Center in Pasay City – as they conducted seminars in Lodge Management, elocution contests, and the Annual Convention of Past Guild Masters. Other activities scattered across the three-day event were the presentation of reports from different committees and Masonic organizations and the election and installation of new officers.

Keynote speaker Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairman Jose Melo graced the event on April 22. Along with Mr. Melo, other distinguished members of the Grand Masonic Lodge were also present, including Masonic District NCR-A VW Arnel M. Ofendo (who also hosted the event), District Deputy Grand Master of ANCOM 2010, and Outgoing Grand Master of This Grand Jurisdiction MW Peter U. Lim Lo Suy.

Highlights of the affair included the Grand Oration by VW Simeon Datumanong, the approval of the Proceedings of the 93rd ANCOM held the past year in Cagayan de Oro City, the Grand Masters’ Night, and the Tribute to the Grand Masters and Installation Gala.
