Protect 2010 Forum on focus to Business vs. Threat Reduction Concerns

Last April 15 to 16, Protect 2010 settled a conference at New World Hotel, Makati City with the theme “Disaster Risk Reduction Forum on Doing Business Amidst New Threats”.

This conference included five major sessions that respectively discussed Threats from Man-Made Disasters, Overcoming Major Threats in Doing Business, Reducing Threats – Preventing Crisis, Business Considerations, and the Latest Developments in Providing Security.

Executive Secretary Leandro Mendoza officially opened the council as he delivered his keynote speech which emphasized the continuing partnership between the public and private sectors to prevent, respond, rescue, and recover for terrorism and natural disasters.

Protect 2010, which was co-organized by the Anti-Terrorism Council and Leverage International (Consultants) Inc. with Undersecretary Ricardo R. Blancaflor as the spokersperson, was attended by various representatives from different bureaus and departments inside and outside the country to also deliver sub-topics from each conference’s session.

The group of speakers with their respective sub-topics included (by Session):

Session 1

The two-day forum brought the advantages of a partnership between the private and public sectors against cyber-terrorism, disaster risk reduction coordination, updated technologies that are readily implementable when the participants return to their offices, competitive edge in the marketplace for companies with a reputation for resiliency despite a crisis, and compliance with mandates by regulatory agencies and stockholders for corporate good governance.
