Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 26th Annual National Convention

The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) held its 26th Annual Convention last March 25 at Legend Hotel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

With the theme: “Saving Lives: Protecting our Seas, Volunteer We Must”, the three day activity highlighted workshops on Maritime Search and Rescue, Marine Environmental Protection, Marine Safety, and Maritime Community Relations. Also, included in the program was the search and rescue and the oil spill response demonstration involving PCG surface and air assets.

Hosted by Coast Guard Auxiliary District Palawan, headed by Rear Admiral Higinio C. Mendoza in cooperation with Commodore Joel S. Garcia PCG, Commodore of Coast Guard District Palawan, the event was attended by PCGA volunteers, together with PCG District and Major Unit Commanders, and Members of the Central Staff of Headquarters Philippine Coast Guard.

Morever, among the special guests of the convention were Executive Secretary Leandro Mendoza, DOTC Acting Secretary Anneli R. Lontoc, Undersecretary of Maritime Transport Thomson C. Lantion, Rep. Abraham Kahlil B. Mitra, and Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn of Palawan City.
