Corporate Social Responsibility: The Manila Forum

Corporate Social Responsibility: The Manila Forum was a conference slated on May 28,2009 in Makati City that challenged corporate individuals to be a socially responsible individual to his community.

The event themed as “Making an Impact: Measuring and Managing your CSR In Difficult Times,” the discussed the social engagement of a corporate individual to society. The forum aims to use CSR to integrate learning of the CSR and promote a trust-based relationship between companies and their stakeholders. The event aimed to highlight the two-way management of a company’s personal development while at the same time helping his community.

The event drew was divided in plenary consisting of three workshop sessions. Richard Welford, chairman of CSR Asia, talked about Stakeholder Engagement. Michelle Brown and David Boyd-Thomas gave talks on Evaluating Community Investment. Junie del Mundo, as moderated by Atty. Gianna Montinola, engaged a discussion on communicating and reporting CSR.

Speakers of the Manila Forum collectively want to educate participants. What the event aimed was influence on businesses to outreach the community, exchange information with experts, interact and engage with co-participants as they build networks that would continually promote corporate social responsibility.
