Participants geared up at the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC) on May 29-31, 2009 to compete for an extreme water sports challenge at The 4th Phlippine Cable Wakeboard Nationals.
Well known as an extreme sports destination in the country, Governor LRay Villafuerte Jr. gladly welcomed the competitors of various divisions namely Groms, Open Women, Open Wakeskate, Junior Men’s, Open Men’s, Veteran’s and Pro Men’s divisions as they set their eyes not only for the cash prizes, but also for the love of the sport.
New this year was the Rail Park Contest that will also open 4 divisions namely the Amateur Women, Amateur Men, Open Wakeskate and Pro Men.
The divisions’ age brackets were as follows: Groms Boys (ages 10-13), Girls (ages 13 and under), Junior Men (ages 14-17), Open Women (no age limit), Open Men (No age limit), Open Wakeskate (No age limit), Veterans (Ages 40 and up), and Pro Men (no age limit).
The rail and cable competitions were opened to participants with an entry fee of for all Wake divisions at Php 750.00 each and Php 200.00 for the Rail park contests. A free ride on the cable , free transportation to and from the Naga Airport, CWC and hotels, and access to all parties, concerts and events from May 23-31 were among the benefits for the participants.
A participant may also opt to join the more than one discipline but will still need to pay the entry fees.
