TEDxManila empowers passion for change

The first TEDx event in the Philippines dubbed as TEDxManila situated last December 5, 2009 at the University of the Philippines College of Law Auditorium. At TEDxManila, TEDTalks video and live speakers were combined to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that brings people together to share a TED-liked experience. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.

Moreover, it is a small nonprofit annual event bringing together some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share what they are most passionate about when it comes to Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED). Their mission is to spread ideas and believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, and the world.

With the theme, “Sa Isip, Sa Salita at Sa Gawa” the event featured guests and speakers like Antonio Oposa Jr., Illiac Diaz, Graham Glass, Mark Ruiz, and Maria Melizza D. Tan.

Mr. Rommel Feria, event orgainizer, noted that this year’s attendees were thought leaders in the field of education, Business and Communications.
