PSSE on Current Environmental Issues

The Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers (PSSE) Inc. celebrated the 2009 Annual Convention last December 3 to 4 at the Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

Moreover, the convention also covered the General Assembly and Elections of Officers of the organization for the incoming year 2010-2011.

Engr. Ronulfo C. Feliciano, PSSE National President, noted that this year’s convention theme is “Responding to the Challenges of Local Environmental Protection Amidst Global Crisis.” Speakers, moreover, tackled various topics that presented the current issues in the environment and their experiences in their respective fields.

Covered issues are: “A Situation Report on Water Supply in the Philippines by the National Water Resources Board”; “The Philippine Sanitation Road mapping”; “Engineered Sanitary Landfill: Its Current Issues and Concerns”; and “Climate Change: Local Impacts and Global Implications”.

Coordinators of the said event were Ms. Christine Ann Guardiano and Engr. Bong Fonte of the Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers Inc.
