ACPACI National Convention

The Association of CPAs in commerce and Industry held the annual national convention last September 16-18, 2010 at the Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel in Laoag City.

With the theme “Crossing borders” the event was held in the Ilocos region after conducting the annual event in Baguio City for the past eight years. ACPACI past president and chair of this year’s convention said the changing of venue provides a perfect backdrop for the technical discussions, most of which tackles he changing roles of the CPAs plus it is in line with the organization and the convention’s theme. 

The opening plenary was keynoted by Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos and followed by notable speakers who handled the technical sessions. Few of the speakers were Atty. Ma. Gracia Casals-Diaz; General Accountant, Office of the General Accountant, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ms. Lilian Lansangan; Head of Specialists Advisory Services Division of Punongbayan and Araullo, Dr. Violeta Villaroman-Bautista; Executive Director of Care and Counsel Wholeness Center and professor at the University of the Philippines, and Atty. Jules Riego.

The convention aims to update the participants with the latest developments in their profession, and be able to face and address the challenges and issues aligned with it.
