Ultra Marathon at Laguna de Bay

The Laguna de Bay Conservation Foundation (LBCF) staged the Laguna de Bay Ultra Marathon Challenge last May 1-2 on the perimeter of the Laguna Lake.

Mr. Ed Manda, Laguna Lake Development Authority General Manager, noted that the event hopes to create awareness in preserving the lake. Moreover, he also stressed that with this event, the foundation aims to instill the values of bayanihan, love of nature, and teamwork.

The race draws 40 teams, which is composed of five runners—only two tem members should be elite runners and should also include one female member. The race, moreover, started at Frontera and run toward the Laguna Provincial Capitol in Sta. Cruz—both on the first and second day of the event.

Sponsored by Accel, PAGCOR, Outlast Battery, and Shakeys, the proceeds of the race will go to the Galalan Community Forest in Pangil, Laguna, and the Laguna de bay Integrated Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council.
