British Council on ELT confab

The British Council launched the 1st Philippine International English Language Conference and ACCESS: The UK Education Fair last January 31 to February 1, 2009 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The event showcased the exchange of strengths and expertise of British and Filipino Experts in the areas of English and provides study opportunity in the UK.

The Philippine International Language Conference is a gathering of English experts from all over the world. Plenary Speakers include David Nunan, chair professor of Applied Linguistics and director of English Linguistics in Stockholm University; and Jane Lockwood, head of the English Language centre at the Hong Kong Institute of Education.

The English Language Teaching confab, on the other hand, is organized in partnership with the Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, University of the Philippines and the University of Santo Tomas

Moreover, the UK Education Fair was also featured alongside the ELT Conference. It is an annual exhibition of UK institutions that come to the Philippines to discuss study opportunities with Filipinos who wish to avail UK education.
